Biography
2005: Blasiak, the 2005 Empire 8 Runner of the Runner of the Year, competed in nine of 13 races with five top-10 finishes. She recorded a second-place finish at Oneonta, placed third at Rensselaer and finished fourth at the NYSCTC Championship. Her time of 22:08 at Lehigh is tied for the second-fastest 6,000-meter course time, while her time of 17:47 at Rensselaer is tied for the eighth-fastest 5,000-meter time in school history. Blasiak was also named to the UCTFCCCA All-Academic Team and the Empire 8 Presidents’ List.
2004: Blasiak ran in eight of 12 races, including state, regional, and national championships. She earned first-team all-conference and first-team all-state honors. She was also named all-Atlantic region. She finished in Ithaca’s top five seven times. She finished 10th at states and finished fifth at regionals. Her best finish was a first place visit at Oneonta. Her finish at Rensselaer was Ithaca’s 13th-fastest time in a 5,000-meter race. She was a four time all-state finisher in track & field.
2003: Blasiak, the Empire 8 Rookie of the Year, ran in nine races including the state, regional and national championships. She earned first-team all-conference and third-team all-state honors. She finished in Ithaca’s top five five times. At the state meet, Blasiak finished 18th, recording a career-best time of 18:45. Her best finish was 11th place at Cortland. She also finished 15th at the pre-NCAA meet at Hanover. She was named to the Empire 8 Presidents' list twice.
High School: Blasiak was a four-year member of the cross country and track and field teams, running for coach Ron Olsen at Chapel Hill High School.
Personal: A biology major, she is the daughter of Richard Blasiak and Elaine Cameron.
