Biography
2008: McCormick was once again an all-conference, all-state and all-region runner, and again was runner-up at the Empire 8 championships. She ran a season-best 18:27 at the conference meet. McCormick placed sixth overall at the NYSCTC Championship--a 10-spot improvement on 2007--and finished 24th at the NCAA Atlantic Regional meet. She was the Bombers' third finisher at nationals, running 23:20. McCormick was one of Ithaca's top-three finishers at all nine of her races, including leading the way for the team at the season-opening meet at Oneonta. She placed second at that race.
2007: McCormick earned all-conference, all-state, and all-region honors for the second consecutive season as a sophomore. She finished second in the Empire 8 Championship, trailing only teammate Lindsey Nadolski. Her career-best time of 18:09 at the conference meet is the fourth-fastest 5,000-meter course time at Ithaca since 2000. McCormick also placed 16th at the NYSCTC Championship and 20th at the NCAA Regional, recording a career-best 6,000-meter time of 22:41. McCormick competed in nine races, with seven top-20 finishes. She was one of Ithaca’s top-two finishers in each race, and was the first Bomber runner to cross the line at the Houghton Highlander Invitational. She placed second overall in the meet.
2006: McCormick earned all-conference, all-state and all-region honors as a freshman. She placed ninth at the Empire 8 championship with a season-best time of 18:50 and placed 14th and 24th at the NYSCTC and NCAA regional championships, respectively. Her time of 23:30.3 at the regional championship was the 15th-fastest 6,000-meter course time at Ithaca since 2000. McCormick’s top finish was a sixth place showing at Houghton’s Highlander Invitational.
High School: A 2006 graduate of Champlain Valley Union High School, McCormick was coached by Scott Bliss. A two time team captain, McCormick won three team state championships and one New England championship. She also lettered in indoor track and outdoor track
Personal: A physical therapy major, she is the daughter of William and Luana McCormick.
