Biography
2007: Currier competed in eight races as a junior, recording six top-25 finishes. She received all-conference, all-state, and all-region honors for the third straight year after placing third in the Empire 8 Championship, 21st in the NYSCTC Championship, and 25th in the NCAA Regional meet. She ran a career-best 5,000-meter time of 18:37 at the Empire 8 Championship – the program’s 11th best time since 2000. Currier was Ithaca’s third finisher at the NCAA Regional, running a career-best 6,000-meter time of 22:51.
2006: Currier earned all-conference, all-state and all-region honors for the second consecutive season after placing seventh and 15th at the Empire 8 and NYSCTC Championships, respectively, and the placed 31st at the NCAA regional championship. She was one of Ithaca’s top-seven finishers in each of the nine races she competed in as a sophomore with four top-10 finishes. Currier had a season best finish of fourth at Houghton’s Highlander Invitational and posted a season-best time of 18:42 at the conference championship.
2005: Currier earned all-conference, all-state and all-region honors after placing seventh at the Empire 8 Championship, 23rd at the NYSCTC Championship and 30th at the NCAA Regional Championship. She finished in Ithaca’s top seven in eight of the nine races she competed in. She finished 12th at Oneonta’s Fortin Air Park Invitational. Currier’s top time of 18:57 came at the Empire 8/NYSCTC Championships.
High School: A graduate of Masconomet Regional High School, Currier was coached by Joe Casey. She was Runner of the Year in 2004 and also letter in indoo/outdoor track and field.
Personal: A environmental studies major, she is the daughter of Robert and Diane Currier.
