Biography

High School: Matthews earned team MVP honors for both the indoor and outdoor track & field teams at Afton High School. Outdoors, he was a member of the league-champion and league record-holding 400-meter relay team. He was also a member of the soccer team at Afton, serving as team captain.

Personal: A physical education/health education major, he is the son of Gerry and Linda Matthews.
