High School
Carter graduated from Johnson City High School where he earned four varsity letters and was senior captain for the Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field and Cross Country teams. He was coached by Eric Putman and Peter Tylenda. During his prep career he earned multiple school awards... Rookie of the year... MVP... Wildcat... Sportsmanship... Scholarly Athlete… He was an 8 time class B Champion in multiple events, a four-time Section IV champion in multiple events, and earned two All-State titles.
