Biography
2010-11: An All-NYSCTC and All-ECAC 4x800-meter relay performer during the indoor season, Kastler competed in five events as a sophomore. He clocked season-best indoor times of 8:13.00 in the 3,200 relay, 2:04.15 in the 800 and 1:09.61, a team-best time, in the 500. Outdoors he finished the 400 in 53.52 and the 800 in 2:01.22.
2009-10: During the indoor season of his freshman year, Kastler competed in a trio of events. He anchored the Bombers’ 1,600-meter relay team to a 3:38.71 finish, while also setting season-bests of 54.75 in the 400 dash and 1:11.44 in the 500 run. During the outdoor season, Kastler competed primarily in the 400 and 800 with season-best performances of 54.44 and 2:06.03. He also competed in the 200 and ran a leg of the Bombers’ 1,600 relay.
High School: A 2009 graduate of Walter Johnson High School, Kastler was coached by Mike Martin. He earned two varsity letters in track & field and three more in cross country.
Personal: A culture and communications major, he is the son of Emily and Scott Kastler. He is also a member of the Ithaca cross country team.
