Biography
2010-11: Did not compete during the 2010-11 season.
2009-10: Did not compete during the indoor season of his junior year. During the outdoor season, Jakubek was both the Empire 8 runner-up and an All-NYSCTC honoree in the high jump. He recorded a season-best clear of 1.94 meters at the Dick Shea Invitational.
2008-09: Outdoors, Jakubek earned All-ECAC and All-NYSCTC accolades in the high jump. He placed fourth in the event at both championship meets, clearing 1.90 meters at the state meet and 2.00 meters at ECACs.
2007-08: As a freshman, Jakubek was Empire 8 runner-up in the high jump during the indoor season. He jumped 1.90 meters at the championship. He placed sixth at the outdoor championship at 1.75 meters. Jakubek competed in the event at both NYSCTC meets, jumping 1.82 meters indoors and 1.83 outdoors.
High School: Jakubek was a member of the indoor and outdoor track & field teams at Monroe-Woodbury High School. He was county and Section IX champion in the outdoor high jump, placing third in the state. Indoors, he was county champ and a national championship qualifier. Jakubek was also a member of the swimming & diving team at Monroe Woodbury, earning six varsity letters while winning sectional championships in two relay events.
Personal: A physical therapy major, he is the son of Mark Jakubek and Jill Legg. He is also a sprinter on the Ithaca swimming & diving team.
