Biography
2010-11: Tapler placed fifth to earn All-NYSCTC accolades in the 400-meter hurdles at the outdoor championships. Indoors he clocked season-best times of 8.52 in the 55 hurdles and 9.28 in the 60 hurdles, while outdoors he finished with season-best times of 23.74 in the 200 dash, 16.08 in the 110 hurdles and 55.93 in the 400 hurdles.
2009-10: During the indoor season of his freshman year, Tapler competed in three individual events and a pair of relays. He recorded season-bests times of 8.46 in the 55-meter hurdles, 9.15 in the 60 hurdles and 24.33 in the 200 dash, while helping the Bombers to a 1:36.04 finish in the 800 relay and a 3:55.26 finish in the 1,600 relay. Tapler earned All-NYSCTC honors during the outdoor season with an eighth-place finish in the 400 hurdles at the state meet. He clocked season-best times of 16.27 in the 110 hurdles and 58.12 in the 400 hurdles, while also competing on the Bombers’ 4x400 relay team.
High School: A 2009 graduate of Guilderland High school, Tapler earned three varsity letters in track & field was named a Suburban Council all-star as a junior.
Personal: An anthropology major, he is the son of Russell and Maureen Tapler. His mother, Maureen, is also a graduate of Ithaca College.
