Biography
2003-04: Zupan was a member of the state-champion 1,600-meter relay (3:20.28) team at the NYSCTC outdoor championships. He was also an all-state selection with a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash at the state outdoor meet. Zupan was a member of the conference-champion 1,600-meter relay at the Empire 8 outdoor championships. He also finished runner-up, individually, in the 400-meter dash at the conference outdoor meet. He placed 20th in the 400-meter dash at the ECAC championships (50.66).
2002-03: Zupan ran a season-best time 24.23 in the 200-meter dash at Cornell’s Deneault Invitational. He also finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 53.40 at Cornell’s Big Red Invitational.
2001-02: Zupan was a member of the fourth-place 1,600-meter relay and the seventh-place 400-meter relay at the NYSCTC outdoor championships. He placed fifth in the 200-meter dash (24.01) at the Ithaca Tri-Meet. He ran career-best times of 23.86 in the 200-meter dash at Hamilton and 52.39 in the 400-meter dash at Moravian.
High School: Zupan was a two-year letter winner in track & field at Walter Panas High School where he was coached by Sarah Meardule.
Personal: A social studies education major, he is the son of Jerry and Mary Zupan.
