Biography
2010-11: Savage was a five-time all-state performer as a sophomore. He earned All-ECAC honors indoors with a fourth-place 4x800-meter relay finish, while earning All-NYSCTC accolades in the 3,200 relay and DMR. Outdoors he was an all-state performance in the 800 run and 4x800 relay. Savage clocked season-best indoor times of 2:04.44 in the 800 run, 2:36.30 in the 1,000, 4:34.94 in the mile run and helped the Bombers to a school-record finish of 7:51.65 in the 4x800 relay. Outdoors he had season-best performances of 1:56.88 in the 800 run, 4:10.05 in the 1,500 and ran on the Bombers’ 8:09.15 3,200 relay team.
2009-10: During the indoor season of his freshman year, Savage earned a pair of All-NYSCTC accolades. He competed in two individual events and two relays setting season-best times of 2:07:20 in the 800-meter run and 2:35.24 in the 1,000 run at the ECAC Indoor Championships, while helping Ithaca to an 8:03.92 3,200 relay finish and a 10:30.75 time in the distance medley relay. Outdoors, Savage ran in three individual events and on a pair of relays for the Bombers. He notched all-state honors with a second-place finish in the 3,200 relay, a season-best performance of 7:50.27, and finished the Empire 8 runner-up in the 800 run. Savage clocked season-bests of 53.26 in the 400, 1:59.98 in the 800, 4:15.98 in the 1,500 and ran on the Bombers’ 3:35.59 4x400 relay team.
High School: A 2009 graduate of Indian Hills High School, Savage was coached by Steve Opremcak. He also lettered in cross country.
Personal: An integrated marketing and communications major, he is the son of Bill and Amy Savage. He is also a member of Ithaca's cross country team.
