Biography
2004-05: Stokes placed fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.75) and seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.73) at the Empire 8 Championship. In the state meet, Stokes was 11th in the 200-yard breaststroke. Stokes finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke in Ithaca's win over Rochester. In the Bombers' win at the Rensselaer Invitational, Stokes was fourth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.48).
2003-04: Stokes posted two top-10 finishes at the Empire 8 meet, placing eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.61) and ninth in the 500-yard freestyle (4:58.17). At the state meet, he finished 17th in the 200-yard breaststroke and 19th in the 500-yard freestyle with career-best times in both events. Stokes finished runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.85) in a dual meet vs. Cortland. He was named to the UNYSCSA all-academic team and was a member of the Empire 8 fall Presidents’ List.
2002-03: Stokes finished seventh in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.63) and 10th in the 500- and 1,650-yard freestyles (5:00.74 and 17:51.46, respectively) at the conference meet. He placed 16th in the 200-yard breaststroke and 18th in the 500-yard freestyle at the UNYSCSA meet. Stokes also finished 23rd in the 500-yard freestyle at the state meet.
High School: Stokes was a four-year letter winner for coach Brian Killegrew at Aquinas Institute. He was a team captain and the team’s most valuable swimmer his senior season.
Personal: An integrated marketing communications major, he is the son of William and Susan Stokes.
