2014: Folk led the Bombers in nearly every offensive category in 2014. In just 29 starts, she ranked first on the team in batting average (.393), slugging percentage (.685), on-base percentage (.465), doubles (11), RBI (32) total bases (61) and home runs (5). She earned a spot on the all-conference first team, and was named Empire 8 Player of the Year for the second time in her career. She was named to the NFCA All-Northeast Region First Team, marking her third-straight selection, and the second time she has earned first-team honors (2012). Folk was named to the ECAC Division III Upstate Softball All-Star First Team and was also given ECAC Co-Player of the Week honors for the week of April 20, 2014. Folk was also named a CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American. |
2014 Game-by-game statistics2013: Folk played in 38 games for the Bombers in 2013, starting all of those contests at first base. In conference play, Folk led the team in hits (22), doubles (6), home runs (7), and RBIs (20), earning Empire 8 Honorable Mention. Folk picked up her second-consecutive all-region honor by being an at-large selection to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Second Team. Folk led Ithaca in hits (53), doubles (13), triples (3), home runs (10) and RBIs (37). She also paced the Bombers with a .390 batting average. |Â
2013 Game-by-game statistics2012: Folk appeared in 44 games and started 43 as a sophomore. In route to earning NFCA All-America Third Team honors, she led the Bombers in batting average (.414) home runs (5) and runs batted in (41). She earned First Team All-Empire 8 and NFCA Northeast Region accolades while also being named the Empire 8 Player of the Year. Folk compiled seven multi-hit games in a row from April 7-15. She also ended the season hitting safely in six straight games. |
2012 Game-by-game statistics 2011: Folk started 24 games and appeared in four others as a freshman, hitting .385 with three doubles and one home run. She had nine runs scored and five RBI’s. Defensively, Folk recorded 97 putouts and 12 assists, with just one error for a .991 fielding percentage. |
2011 Game-by-game statisticsHigh School: Folk is a 2010 graduate of Long Beach High School, where she played three years of varsity softball for coach Carmine Verde. Folk was a catcher, and earned all-conference honors as a sophomore and all-county honors as a junior and senior. She also earned all-Long Island and all-state honors following both the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
Personal: An athletic training and physical therapy major, Sydney is the daughter of Robin and Ron Folk.
