2011-12: Heckman wrapped up his career with six wins, including a pair of dual-match victories. He defeated his first two opponents at York’s New Standard Corporation Invitational, and recorded consecutive wins in Bomber victories over Rochester Institute of Technology and Oswego. Heckman was Ithaca’s entrant at 197 pounds at the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC) Championships where he defeated his first opponent.
2010-11: Heckman saw limited action as a junior, recording four victories. He placed fourth at the New York State B Championships, Heckman won three matches at the JCC Open, posting a major decision and pinning a Bomber teammate in his final bout.
2009-10: Heckman went 16-10 as a sophomore and was a place-winner at three tournaments. He opened the season by finishing fifth at the Ithaca Invitational; his performance included a 2-0 upset over the fourth seed. Heckman finished sixth at York’s Spartan Classic (helping the Bombers win the team title) and took fourth at the New York State B Championships.
2008-09: Heckman earned all-state honors with an eighth-place showing at the New York State Championships. He opened his career with victories in Ithaca’s wins over RIT and Oswego; his efforts earned him honors as ECWC Rookie of the Week.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Cedar Cliff High School, Heckman earned three letters. He served as team captain and also lettered in football.
Personal: An accounting major, he is the son of John and Louise Heckman.
