Biography

2008: Walker earned first-team all-Empire 8 honors as a junior, the second straight year he received conference honors. He was Ithaca's third finihser at the conference championship, placing fifth with a time of 26:17--a new career-best. Walker also earned third-team all-state honors, after placing 21st at the NYSCTC meet at 27:32. He was one of Ithaca's scoring runners at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships, hosted by St. Lawrence. He ran 27:19 at the meet to finish 45th.

2007: Walker competed in six races, posting three top-25 finishes. He earned second-team all-conference recognition after placing 12th at the Empire 8 Championships. Walker was named Empire 8 Athlete of the Week after finishing 25th at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh. Walker ran a career-best time of 26:25 at the NCAA Regional Championship, placing 67th. Walker had a career-best fifth-place finish at the Roberts Wesleyan Invitational, helping Ithaca place first in the team standings.

2006: Walker scored in each of the eight races he competed in as a freshman, including four top-15 finishes. He earned second-team all-conference honors after placing 11th at the Empire 8 Championship with a season-best time of 26:54. Walker had a season-best 10th-place finish at Roberts Wesleyan.

High School: A 2006 graduate of Midland Park High School, Walker was coached by Jack Ferriday. He was a three-year letter winner as a member of the cross country team and served as team captain his junior and senior years. Walker was an all-league and all-county performer and helped lead his team to a fourth-place finish at the 2005 state championship meet. He also lettered with the track & field teams and won the outdoor league and county titles in the 800-meter run.

Personal: A business major, he is the son of Donald and Gale Walker. His brother, James, is a 2008 Ithaca graduate and was a four-year member of the cross country program, serving as captain in 2007.
