Biography

2003: Zens ran in seven races, including the state and regional championships. He was a first-team all-conference selection and also earned second-team all-state honors. Zens finished in Ithaca’s top five in all seven races. He recorded a career-best time of 26:18 at Lehigh. He finished 12th at the state championships in 26:24. At regionals he finished 55th with a time of 26:51.

2002: Zens ran in eight races, including the state championships. His top time was 27:37 at the Union Invitational. His top finish was 14th against Cortland, helping Ithaca to a 23-38 victory.

High School: At Fayetteville-Manlius High School, Zens ran for coach Bill Aris. He was a member of the 1999 sectional championship team and the four-time league championship team.

Personal: The son of Albert and Beatrice Zens, he is a business administration major.
