Biography
2012: Savage competed in seven races during his senior season. He tallied a season-best time of 26:52.63 in the 8,000-meter run at the NYSCTC Championship. Savage placed 11th at the Empire 8 Championship to earn second-team honors.
2011: Savage competed in six races as a junior. He recorded season-best times of 27:19.00 in the 8,000-meter run and 29:31.00 in the 5.2-mile run.
2010: Savage ran in five races for the Bombers during his sophomore season. He recorded season-best finishes of 28:42.60 in the 5.2-mile run at the Penn State Spiked Shoe Invitational and 26:20.00 in the 8,000-meter run at the Empire 8 Championships. His 8K time, Ithaca’s third-fastest time of the season, earned him a fourth-place finish and first-team all-conference honors.
2009: Competing seven times his freshman year, Savage had three top-20 finishes. His season-best finish was at the Oswego Invitational, where he finished eighth at 20:26. Savage took 16th at 27:01 at the Houghton Invitational and 17th at the Empire 8 Championship with a time of 27:42.
High School: A 2009 graduate of Indian Hills High School, Savage was coached by Steve Opremcak. He lettered four times and earned all-league honors. He also lettered in track & field.
Personal: A integrated marketing communications major, he is the son of Bill and Amy Savage. He is also a distance runner on Ithaca's track & field team. His brother, Scott, is a member of the cross country and track & field teams at The College of New Jersey.
