Biography

2008: Palma earned all-state and all-Empire 8 honors as a sophomore, and was one of Ithaca's top-seven finihsers in all six of his races. He was the third Bomber across the line at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship, placing 40th at 27:01. He placed seventh at the Empire 8 meet at 26:36, the second-fastest performance of his career. Palma'sfastest time came three weeks earlier at Lehigh's Paul Short Invitational, where he ran 26:34 to place 22nd of 270 runners.

2007: Palma competed in six races, finishing as one of Ithaca’s top-six runners in each race in which he competed. He made his collegiate debut at the Houghton Invitational, placing 26th. Palma posted a season-best 12th-place finish at the Roberts Wesleyan Invitational. Palma ran a career-best time of 26:42 at the NCAA Regional Championship, placing 86th. He also placed 21st at the Empire 8 Championship.

High School: A 2007 graduate of Bernards High School, Palma was coached by Dave Szostak. A two-time all-state selection, he earned three varsity letters and served as team captain his junior and senior years. Palma was also an all-conference and all-county performer and was named team MVP as a junior. He also earned accolades as a member of the track & field team.

Personal: A physical education major, he is the son of Lou and Pam Palma.
