Ithaca College Athletics

In simple terms, good communication is hard. It’s hard to listen, overcome biases, control emotions, and be direct and to-the-point with words.  In addition, there are numerous communication barriers to overcome. Ithaca College athletes are regularly challenged to overcome the normal communication barriers and to improve all variations of verbal and non-verbal communication.
 
Specifically, athletes are empowered to improve coach-athlete communications, teammate communications, social-media communications, and personal communications. Athletes are challenged to the following communication essentials (Shelley, 2019).
