Co-Wrestler of the Week: Christian Gramuglia | OSWEGO STATE | 165 LB
Christian Gramuglia took home the 165-pound title at the Ithaca Invitational on November 1-2, posting a perfect 4-0 record en route to the title. He secured three decisions along the way to the final, besting Christian Murphy (JWU) 8-3, third-seeded Cole Karam (NYU) 3-2, and seventh-seeded Jeff Suschana (Western New England) 9-3. It was an All-Laker final at 165-pounds, as Gramuglia took on his teammate Charlie Grygas in the final on Saturday. Gramuglia pinned his teammate in 2:26 to take home the 165-pound title.

Co-Wrestler of the Week: Richard Knapp | BROCKPORT | HWT
Brockport started the year with a 50-0 win over Penn State Behrend, with Knapp pinning his opponent in just 15 seconds to score six points for the team. He continued his dominance at the Brockport Open, taking home first place at 285. He pinned three straight matchups in a combined total time of 7:22, wrestling his way to the first-place match. Knapp earned the decision victory, 8-3, to win the tournament in his division.

Rookie of the Week: Travis Jones | ITHACA | 133 LB
Jones was impressive in his Ithaca debut, posting a 5-1 record en route to a third-place finish in the 133-pound bracket at the Ithaca Invitational on November 1-2. Jones enjoyed a dominant start to the tournament, pinning Greensboro’s Joey Ferigne in 52-seconds. He followed that up with an 18-7 major decision over Springfield’s fourth-seeded grappler Jacques St. Jean. Jones resumed action on Saturday by besting his teammate Luis Hernandez in a 17-6 major decision, before suffering his first defeat in a 9-5 decision in another matchup against a teammate in IC senior Tito Colom. Jones rallied in the consolation bracket, earning a 4-3 decision win over Springfield’s Gianni Manginelli, before dispatching NYU’s Trent Furman in a 7-6 decision.

Week #2: November 4 - November 10, 2019
Co-Wrestler of the Week: Ahken Chu | SUNY Oneonta | 141 LB
Chu went 8-1 on the week with a pin in the 141 pound weight class. On Saturday, Chu went 4-0 on the day to take home first place at the Ned McGinley Invitational. On Sunday, Chu went 4-1 with a pin as the Red Dragons went 4-1 at the Electric City Duals at Scranton.

Co-Wrestler of the Week: Jordan Wallace | ITHACA | 174 LB
The Bombers posted a 1-2 record in a trio of challenging duals at the Journeymen Northeast Duals competition on Saturday, November 9. The headliner was IC's 174-pound transferÂ
Jordan Wallace who went 3-0 on the day, which included two victories over nationally-ranked foes. He defeated the fourth-ranked grappler at the NCAA Division II level in Pitt-Johnstown’s Brock Biddle during the opening match of the day, while he bested TCNJ's unanimous third-ranked wrestler at the Division III level in Dan Kilroy in a 6-2 decision. Wallace is now undefeated through two competitions this season, as he also took home a 174-pound title at the Ithaca Invitational during his Bomber debut on November 1-2.

Rookie of the Week: Cahal Donovan | SUNY CORTLAND | 157 LB
Donovan finished in fourth place at 157 pounds with a 4-1 record at the King's College Ned McGinley Invitational Nov. 9. His wins included a pin, technical fall and major decision. He medically forfeited the third-place match to a teammate.

Week #3: November 11 - November 17, 2019
Wrestler of the Week: Dempsey King | RIT | 165 LB
King won the title at 165 lbs. at the 2019 Roger Williams University Invitational. King defeated Rudy Rodriguez (Naval Academy Prep) in his opening match with a Fall at 2:29, and pinned Kade Kravits (Kings College) at 2:26 in his second round bout. In the quarterfinals, King defeated Michael Angers (Castleton State) 4-0, and advanced to the title match with a Technical Fall (15-0 4:57) over John Garcia (TCNJ).Â

Rookie of the Week: Jacob DeWall | ALFRED STATEÂ | HWT
DeWall earned two pins in the Pioneers victories over Keystone and Ulster. He pinned Cam Smith (KC) in 59 seconds and Diego Orellana (UCC) in 4:13.

Week #4: November 18 - November 24, 2019
Wrestler of the Week: Ahken Chu | SUNY Oneonta | 141 LB
Oneonta senior Anken Chu took home a New York State Championship in the 141-pound weight class on Sunday at Oswego. Chu went 4-0 on the day including a pin over Brockport's Eli Sims in the championship. He began the day with three straight technical falls, conceding just a single escape point, in victories over Austin Bourgeois (RIT; 18-0), Jacob Bernstein (NYU; 16-0), and Isaiah Ocasio (RIT; 17-1). He led Sims by double-digits, before ultimately locking in the fall late in the opening period (2:23). Chu's dominant run of performances earned him the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award at the New York State Championships.
Rookie of the Week: Travis Jones | Ithaca | 133 LB
Jones has gotten off to a fantastic start to his collegiate career and continued his impressive run this fall with a 5-0 day en route to the 133-pound title at the New York State Championships. The IC rookie dominated from the outset, racking up bonus points in every one of his five victories on Sunday. He began the day with back-to-back pins of Oneonta's Greg Brach (3:29) and Alfred State's Brian Hedding (1:28). He followed that up with technical fall victories over RIT's Nate Osborne (18-0) and Oswego State's William Hardin (22-5) to punch his ticket to the 133-pound final. RIT's Chris Horton provided a little more resistance in the final bout of the day, but Jones still rolled to an 18-5 major decision to take home the title.

Week #5: December 2 - December 7, 2019
Wrestler of the Week: Austin Whitney | Ithaca College | 165 LB
Whitney posted a perfect 4-0 record en route to the 165-pound title at the 11
th Annual New Standard Corporation, hosted by York College. He began his tournament with a first-period fall (1:26) against York’s Jake Hipps. Returning to the mats on Day 2, he began his title run with a third-period pin (5:30) of Roger Williams’ Luke Bokina. The opposition only got harder from there, as he capped the tournament with back-to-back wins against nationally-ranked foes. th NWCA), besting the Ducks’ top 165-pounder in the first sudden-victory period 9-7. It was another nail-biter for Whitney in the 165-pound title bout against Dominick Reyes (10

Rookie of the Week: Jhordyn Innocent | SUNY Oneonta | 197 LB
Innocent took home a first-place finish in the 197-pound weight class at the 54th Annual Rit Invitational this past Saturday. His performance helped the Red Dragons finish third out of 15 teams at the event. After receiving a bye in the first round, Innocent began his day with a pin of Jeromy Hennning from Norwich University in three minutes. He followed that, with a 10-4 decision over Brian Kent of Case Western. In the semifinals, Innocent garnered a 9-2 decision over John Carroll’s Matthew Ferraro. He captured his first collegiate championship with a major decision over RIT’s Colby Giroux. Innocent is currently 8-6 overall with a pair of pins.

Week #6: December 30, 2019 - January 5, 2020Â
Wrestler of the Week: Sam Weinger | RIT | 285 LB
Weinger returned to the RIT lineup Saturday against SUNY Oswego after nearly two years off from the sport. Weinger pinned Torryan Jones at 2:58 that tied the score at 9-9.
Rookie of the Week: Colby Giroux | RIT | 197 LB
Giroux helped RIT to a 26-15 win over Oswego State Saturday. The freshman improved to 16-9 on the season with a 10-4 win over Aidan Mathews at 197 lbs.

Week #7: January 6 - January 12, 2020
Wrestler of the Week: Eze Chukwuezi | Ithaca | 184 LB
Ithaca sophomore Eze Chukwuezi posted a 3-1 record against national competition at the 2020 NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals this past Friday. Chukwuezi began the day with his most challenging test of the weekend against Western New England’s reigning 184-pound champion in nationally-ranked John Boyle (4
th NWCA | 1
st d3wrestle.com). Chukwuezi led the bout deep into the third period, but needed a late escape to force an extra session. Chukwuezi got the clinching takedown late in the first sudden-victory period to score the upset. He suffered his lone defeat of the day in the next dual, falling to sixth-ranked Coe’s 184-pounder Josh Edel. Chukwuezi capped Friday with two convincing wins, dispatching Alma’s Dylan Seaton in a 7-1 decision, before besting Alex Oruna of No. 19 Wisconsin-Whitewater in a 13-3 major decision. On the year, Chukwuezi holds a 15-2 record.
Rookie of the Week: Charlie Grygas | Oswego State | 157 LB
Grygas went 5-0 at the Budd Whitehill Duals hosted by Lycoming College. In his opening bout, he took a 12-3 major decision over Nicolas Monteleone of Springfield College. In the team's matchup with #21 Wis.-Eau Claire, Grygas scored another 12-3 major decision over Chase Schmidt. In his final match of the first day, he scored a 5-0 shutout over Edward Williams of York. On day two, the Delanson, N.Y. native won his third 12-3 major decision of the tournament against Nick Anselmi of Williams College, before winning by forfeit in his final matchup against Wesleyan (CT). On the season, Grygas has a 17-5 record, which includes a win over RIT All-American Kaidon Winters.

Week #8: January 13 - January 19, 2020
Wrestler of the Week: Demitreus Henry | SUNY Cortland | 174 LB
Henry posted a perfect 3-0 record en route to claiming his first career ECWC individual title this past weekend. He began his run at 174-pounds with a dominant 16-1 technical fall over Oneonta’s Chris Coyle. He followed that performance up with a second-period pin of Oswego State’s Isaac Mathews (4:05) to punch his ticket to the final. Facing nationally-ranked Jordan Wallace (5

th d3wrestle.com) in the final, Henry dealt IC’s grappler just a second loss on the season. Henry overcame an early deficit to force extra time, before scoring the clinching takedown for a 5-3 win in the first sudden-victory period.

Co-Rookie of the Week: Charlie Grygas | Oswego State | 165 LB
Grygas started the day with the top seed and a bye, before scoring a major decision (14-4) over Sam Grey of Brockport.  He earned a 10-5 decision in the semifinal before a pin of Thomas Marrone of Oneonta in the final to earn the title at 165.

Co-Rookie of the Week: Travis Jones | Ithaca | 133 LB
Jones posted a perfect record en route to the 133-pound title and helping Ithaca capture its sixth straight ECWC team title this past weekend. He began the day with his team-leading ninth pin of the year at 3:44 against Oneonta's Larsen Larame. Jones narrowly missed out on a tech fall in his next bout, surging past Brockport's John Cantwell, but ultimately settling for a major decision at 21-8. The IC rookie's toughest challenge came in the semifinals, as Cortland's Matt Maquet made things interesting in a 9-5 decision that Jones prevailed. The final was a runaway, as Jones blew open an early 2-2 tie with a reversal and four-point near fall. IC's rookie never looked back in rolling to a 20-5 technical fall over RIT's Nate Osborne.

Week #9: January 20 - January 26, 2020
Co-Wrestler of the Week:Â Richard Knapp | Brockport | 285 LB
Brockport heavyweight Richard Knapp posted two victories on Saturday to help Brockport earn two dual meet wins over Oswego and Castleton at the Oswego Duals. Knapp pinned Oswego’s Toryan Jones in 6:05 to help the Golden Eagles down Oswego by the score of 25-16. He added a 10-0 major decision against Castleton’s Joseph Galusha to help Brockport earn a 21-16 win. The two wins over the weekend helped legendary Brockport Head Coach Don Murray secure his 50
th consecutive winning season.Â
Co-Wrestler of the Week: Kaidon Winters | RIT | 157 LB
Winters posted a 3-0 record at the John Reese Duals Sunday hosted by Wilkes University. He began the day with a pin of Liam Flaherty at 1:38. After a medical forfeit win against Lackawanna College, he pinned TCNJ’s David Santiago at 3:25.
Rookie of the Week:Â Colby Giroux | RIT | 174 LB
Giroux went 3-0 at the John Reese Duals Sunday at Wilkes University. He beagn the day with a win over Brady Mitchell of Wilkes. After a forfeit win against Lackawanna College, Giroux defeated TCNJ’s Reid Colella.

Week #10: January 27 - February 2, 2020
Wrestler of the Week: Matt Caccamise | Brockport | 125 LB
Nationally-ranked No. 6Â
Matt Caccamise won all three matches he entered on the day as Brockport went 3-0 with dual meet wins over No. 21 Muhlenberg, Southern Maine and WPI. Caccamise opened with a win in the 133 pound division as he topped Muhlenberg's Joshua Hickey by way of a 7-0 decision. He came back with a dominating technical fall victory in his second match of the day, this time in the 125 pound weight class, as he defeated Antoine Grace (17-1). He then added a second technical fall when he topped WPI's Christian Chadwick 18-0 in 2:37. Caccamise now holds a record of 22-2 on the season.Â
Brockport's dual record improved to 8-0 on the year and legendary 50
th year Head CoachÂ
Don Murray moved his win total to 359 for his career.Â
Rookie of the Week: Ben Bivar | SUNY Cortland | 157 LB
Bivar won both of his matches at the Springfield College Quad Meet. He recorded a pin versus Johnson & Wales and won by a 6-1 decision over Castleton. Bivar improved to 14-3 on the year with four pins and two major decisions.
