Biography
2011-12: A team captain as a senior, McCarron swam distance freestyle events.
2010-11: McCarron competed in distance freestyle events as a junior.
2009-10: McCarron ranked among Ithaca's top performers in distance freestyle events. She placed ninth in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the UNYSCSA meet with a season-best time of 18:27.60, and was third in a quad-meet at Hamilton in the 1,000 free in 11:10.19, which was the third-fastest time by a Bomber in that event.
2008-09: McCarron posted Ithaca's second-fastest times of the season in the 500- and 1,650-yard freestyle events as a freshman. Her time of 5:20.14 in the 500 free earned 14th place at the state meet, and her time of 18:25.43 in the 1,650 free was good for ninth in the same meet. She placed second in the 1,000 free against Rochester with a season-best time of 11:18.80.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School, Simone was coached by Matt Donovan. She earned four letters and was team captain. Her team won the county and conference championship in 2008.
Personal: The daughter of Dan and Bev McCarron, she is a math education major.
