Biography

2008-09: Seifried won 10 matches – picking up two of his wins by fall – and earned all-state honors with a sixth-place finish at the New York State Championships. He recorded second-place showings at the Sunshine Open and Jamestown Community College Open.

2007-08: Seifried missed most of the season with an injury, wrestling jut six times. He recorded a fourth-place finish at the season-opening Ithaca Invitational.

2006-07: Seifried became the first Bomber freshman since 2002 to earn all-America honors, placing seventh at the NCAA Championships. He opened competition at nationals by pinning the fifth seed and posted another pin in the consolation round. Seifried, who was named ECWC Rookie of the Year, posted a pin and a 7-0 decision to claim the conference title. He earned all-state honors with a fourth-place finish at the state meet. He set a Bomber freshman record with 10 pins and was one of only two repeat winners of the ECWC Rookie of the Week honors. Seifried placed second at the JCC Open.

High School: A 2006 graduate of Mohawk Central School, Seifried was coached by Jeff Mower. Seifried was a four-time first-team central New York all-star and a three-time state placewinner. He won three Section III titles and was the state runner-up as a senior.

Personal: A clinical science/physical therapy major, he is the son of Jon Bly and Shelly Seifried.
