Biography

2005: Bonkowski, a team captain, was the ECAC Upstate New York and Empire 8 Player of the Year. She earned first-team NFCA Northeast Region honors, first-team ECAC Upstate New York honors and first-team all-conference honors. She led the Bombers with a .362 batting average, 35 runs scored, 50 hits (tied for ninth on the single-season list), 33 RBI (tied for 10th on the single-season list), 90 total bases, nine home runs and a .652 slugging percentage. She was named to the NCAA Northeast Regional and College World Series all-tournament teams. Bonkowski batted .394 in the NCAA playoffs with 13 hits, 10 runs and five RBI. She was named Empire 8 Player of the Week three times and ECAC Upstate New York Player of the Week once. One of her player of the week honors came after an eight-game span during which she batted .600 with 12 hits, including two home runs, 11 RBI and a 1.050 slugging percentage. In the first game of a doubleheader against Elmira, she hit a three-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. She moved into fourth place on Ithaca’s all-time runs list (107), is fifth in batting average (.348) and RBI (95), and ninth in hits (138). She earned second-team District I all-academic honors for the second consecutive season.

2004: Bonkowski was a first-team NFCA northeast region all-star and first-team all-conference selection for the second straight season. She batted .343 with team-leading totals of 48 hits and six home runs. Bonkowski ranked among the team’s leaders in slugging percentage (second, .557), runs scored (second, 35), RBIs (second, 29) and stolen bases (third, nine). She was named to the NFCA Leadoff Classic all-tournament team after batting .500 with 10 hits, six RBIs and two home runs. Bonkowski was named Empire 8 player of the week two times and ECAC Upstate NY player of the week twice. She earned second-team District I all-academic honors. Her two-year total of 14 career home runs is Ithaca’s third-best all-time mark.

2003: Bonkowski was a first-team all-conference selection and was named Empire 8 rookie of the year. She was also named to the NFCA northeast region all-star team. She went 6-for-12 to hit .500 at the NCAA northeast regional and earned all-tournament team honors. Bonkowski led the team with eight home runs, including seven over an eight-game span. She led Ithaca with 37 runs scored and ranked third  with a .366 batting average. She tied a school record as she hit two home runs against Buffalo State. In a win over Plattsburgh, Bonkowski recorded her first career home run.

High School: At The Williams School, Bonkowski was a three-time all-conference and two-time all-area selection for coaches Julie Bradley and Meloney Davis.

Personal: A leisure studies major, she is the daughter of Stanley Bonkowski and Kristine Mulholland.
