Biography
2004-05: Morningstar earned here fourth All-American honor with a fourth place finish in the high jump at the NCAA indoor championships with a height of 5’5.75” after placing third at the ECAC championships (5’3.75”) and winning the NYSCTC championship with a height of 5’6”. She also captured the state outdoor championship in the high jump with a height of 5’4.5” before placing second at the ECAC championships (5’3.75”) and 11th at the NCAA championships (5’5.25”). Morningstar recorded seven wins in the high jump during the indoor and outdoor seasons.
2003-04: Morningstar earned all-America honors for the third time, placing third in the high jump at the NCAA indoor championships. She is the first Bomber to earn all-America honors three times in a field event. Morningstar was a national qualifier during the outdoor season and placed 17th at the NCAA championships. She won the state title in that event at both the indoor and outdoor NYSCTC meets and was the ECAC runner-up during the indoor season.
2002-03: Morningstar earned all-America honors in both the indoor and outdoor high jump, finishing third at the indoor national championships and seventh at the outdoor NCAA meet. Her third-place showing at the indoor event was the program’s highest finish ever in a field event. Morningstar won the ECAC title in the spring and recorded third-place finishes at the ECAC indoor championships and the indoor state meet. Her top marks were 1.61 meters (indoors) and 1.65 meters (outdoors).
High School: At Towanda Area High School, Morningstar was coached in track and field by Mark Vail.
Personal: The daughter of John and Valerie Morningstar, she is a student in the exploratory program. Her sister Mandi is a sophomore at Ithaca.
