Field Hockey Defensive Performer of the Week – Maeve Clark
Maeve Clark made four saves to earn her seventh win and fourth shutout of the season as Ithaca defeated Union, 2-0, on Saturday in IC's Liberty League opener.
Golf Performer of the Week – Brianna Morrison
Brianna Morrison tied for 12th out of 74 golfers at the Williams Fall Invitational over the weekend as she shot a two-round total of 153 (+11). Morrison started the weekend with a 74 (+3) on Saturday, which was within the top five, as she made two birdies with 12 pars. On Sunday, she shot 79 (+8) and holed four more birdies.
Men's Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week – Brayden Milbrandt
Brayden Milbrandt and the Bombers remain unbeaten on the season, currently sitting at 7-0-3 after a two-tie week. The Bombers battled to a 0-0 draw with No. 11 SUNY Cortland on Wednesday evening before opening Liberty League play with a 0-0 draw against Vassar on Saturday. Milbrandt collected 12 saves on the week, making five saves against a nationally ranked offense and seven against the Brewers. He leads the league in shutouts with seven and ranks second with 32 saves.
Women's Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week – Katrina Varnum
Katrina Varnum, the reigning Liberty League Defensive Player of the Week, and the Bombers battled to two ties over the week, tying rival Cortland, 1-1, on Tuesday before holding No. 10 Vassar to a 0-0 draw to open Liberty League play on Saturday. She made four saves against the Red Dragons, while her squad provided plenty of assistance in Saturday's duel, as she only had to make two saves against the nationally ranked Vassar squad. Varnum ties for the league lead with four shutouts while ranking second in saves with 32.
HONOR ROLL
Michael Reed accounted for four touchdowns and 290 yards of offense in Ithaca's 66-0 shutout victory over St. Lawrence on Saturday. Reed threw for three touchdowns on 10-of-15 attempts for 221 yards and rushed for another score on 12 carries for 69 yards.
Andrew Rice accounted for 12 points in Ithaca's 66-0 shutout win over St. Lawrence on Saturday as he made all nine extra points and kicked a 26-yard field goal. Rice also recorded two kick offs for an average of 60.5 yards with one touchback.
Audrey McMahon tallied the game-winning goal in the 31st minute of a 2-0 victory against Union on Saturday to open Liberty League play for Ithaca.
Zara Nourie had the team's lone goal of the week, scoring in the Bombers' 1-1 tie with rival SUNY Cortland. She now has two tallies on the season, also scoring in the team's 2-1 win over WPI earlier in the year.
Elena Chappell and the No. 13 Bombers went 3-0 on the weekend, collecting two Liberty League victories in the process. They swept Bard, 3-0, on Friday, battled to a 3-1 win over Union before capping off the weekend with a 3-0 non-conference victory over Buffalo State. Chappell completed the weekend with a .463 hitting percentage and recorded nine total blocks. She appeared in two sets against the Raptors, recording six kills, one assist and one block assist. She played a large role in the team's win over the Garnet Chargers on Saturday, recording 10 kills, two block assists and one solo block. She closed out the weekend with a three-set performance against the Bengals, sending down seven kills. She also had herself a block party, recording four block assists and one solo block.
