Women’s Track & Field Leads After Day One of Liberty League Championship

CANTON, N.Y. –
The Ithaca College women's track & field team posted 70 points during the first day of competition at the Liberty League Outdoor Championship at St. Lawrence University and leads by 18 points heading into Saturday.

The Bombers dominated the pole vault with the top five placements as Talia Hutchinson won with a clearance of 3.87 meters. Bree Boyle was the runner-up at 3.57 meters, while Erin Eastwood came in third at 3.42 meters. Raessler Guthrie and Teagan Kiger each cleared 3.27 meters to place fourth and fifth.

IC picked up nine points in the 10,000-meter run as Hannah Pawlowski and Lola Gitlin went 4-5 in times of 36:32.39 and 36:41.16.

Lily Seyfert and Enya Green reached the podium in the hammer throw as Seyfert was the runner-up at 50.33 meters and Green came in seventh with a mark of 46.36 meters.

Seyfert also reached the podium in the javelin with a third place mark of 34.60 meters, while Charlotte Powell was the runner-up at 35.29 meters and Celia Ryan took sixth at 32.32 meters.

Alexis Brown took eighth in the long jump with a top mark of 5.10 meters.

Rachel Larson, Cameron Ting and Isabella Rossbach qualified for the 100-meter hurdles final as Larson set a meet record in a time of 13.90 seconds,  Ting was seventh 15.42 seconds and Rossbach took ninth at 15.70.

Larson, Aynisha McQuillar and Marykate Rudnicki will all compete in the 100-meter dash tomorrow. McQuillar was fourth in the prelim at 12.20 seconds, while Larson came in sixth at 12.36 and Rudnicki finished ninth in 12.64.

Kayleigh Milligan posted a prelim time of 2:16.34 in the 800-meter run to take fourth and qualify for the championship race.

Four Bombers will run in the 400-meter dash final as Ava Butler, Meredith Colla, Valentina Wallin and Julia Ryba all finished within the top nine. Butler finished in 58.95, while Colla clocked 1:00.06, Wallin finished in 1:00.44 and Ryba was 1:00.67.

McQuillar and Wallin will be in action in the 200-meter dash after qualifying in times of 25.13 and 25.70.
