Ithaca Divers Shine Putting Up Regional Qualifying Scores at Geneca Invite

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Ithaca College men's and women's diving teams turned in a strong all‑around performance at the Geneca Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by a victory from Madison Morris and multiple top‑five finishes against a competitive regional field.
 
Morris led the Bombers on the women's side, capturing first place on the 1‑meter board with a winning score of 490.60. She followed that effort with a second‑place finish on the 3‑meter (485.65), pacing Ithaca across both events.
 
The Bombers showcased their depth on the 1‑meter board, placing six divers in the top nine. Eliza Salus finished fourth (450.85), Anastasia Albornoz placed sixth (440.45), Emily Provost took seventh (435.60), Maya Hathorn finished eighth (426.85), and Lillian Schick rounded out the group in ninth (422.70).
 
Ithaca continued its strong showing on the 3‑meter board with five top‑eight finishes. Grace O'Malley placed fourth with a score of 452.05, followed by Hathorn in sixth (446.35), Eve Weatherhead in seventh (421.05), and Salus in eighth (418.10)
.
On the men's side, Kian Long led the Bombers with consistent performances on both boards. Long finished third on the 3‑meter with a score of 488.40 and added a fourth‑place finish on the 1‑meter (434.65).
 
Also competing for Ithaca, Andrew Cheely placed eighth on both the 3‑meter (332.35) and 1‑meter (319.70), while Ignacio Fernandez-Manzano finished 10th in each event, scoring 286.30 on the 3‑meter and 297.40 on the 1‑meter.
 
Ithaca hosts the Liberty League Swimming & Diving Championships from February 18-21 inside the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium.
