ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's and women's college swimming & diving team hosted the 18
th Annual Dick Comanzo Diving Invitational on Sunday and had six women's divers post regional qualifying scores while once again
Kian Long did the same on the 1-meter boards.
Senior
Kian Long won the men's 1-meter competition with a commanding score of 506.75, leading an Ithaca sweep of the podium. Sophomore
Andrew Cheely finished second with 326.90, while Nacho Fernandez-Manzano placed third at 305.35.
Cheely turned the tables on the 3-meter board, capturing first place with a score of 335.95. Fernandez-Manzano followed in second at 302.80, and Long took third with 188.85.
On the women's side,
Madison Morris produced a standout day, winning both events to headline another strong showing for Ithaca.
Morris tallied 476.45 points to claim the 1-meter title, leading an impressive eight Bombers inside the top nine.
Grace O'Malley took second with 433.00, and
Eliza Salus followed closely in third at 430.05.
Anastasia Albornoz (422.55),
Eve Weatherhead (415.15), and
Lillian Schick (413.70) all added top-eight finishes.
Morris capped her sweep by winning the 3-meter competition with a score of 468.85. O'Malley finished runner-up at 452.65, while Salus placed third with 451.45.
Maya Hathorn placed fourth (435.95), followed by Albornoz (428.70) and Weatherhead (421.55).
Next up, the divers will return to action at the Geneca Diving Invitational hosted by RIT on Feb. 7 slated for 12 p.m.
