Volleyball Rookie of the Week – Allison Leadbetter
Helping the Bombers open Liberty League play with a 2-0 record,
Addison Leadbetter delivered a pair of standout performances. Against Skidmore, she hit an impressive .474 and recorded a season-high 11 kills, while also contributing three blocks at the net. Leadbetter continued her strong play against Clarkson, adding nine more kills, three service aces, and another trio of blocks to cap off a dominant weekend.
HONOR ROLL
Chris Scully rushed for 98 yards on 26 carries and a touchdown, and he caught four passes for 21 yards as Ithaca defeated Hobart, 13-7. All 26 of Scully's rushes went for positive yards.
Junior forward
Jack Carney helped Ithaca remain one of six teams in Division III to remain unbeaten as he fired in a first half goal in the 1-1 tie to Vassar. Carney capitalized by stripping the ball from both a defender and the goalkeeper, then calmly tapped it in to give the Bombers a 1-0 lead. It was Carney's second goal of the season and the seventh of his collegiate career.
In a strong 2-0 start to Liberty League play, graduate libero
Ellie Benedict was a defensive standout, averaging 6.29 digs per set. She surpassed the 1,000 career digs milestone during the weekend, highlighted by a 24-dig performance against Clarkson, where she also contributed four assists. Benedict followed up with 20 digs and four service aces in a sweep over Skidmore.
