Women's Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week – Allie McCabe
Helped the Bombers to a 2-0 start to the 2025 season, while leading the defensive backline to a pair of shutouts.
Allie McCabe got her senior season started scoring the game-winning goal as she powered a header into the back of the net off a corner in the 2-0 win over Elmira. McCabe would again lead the defensive backline to a shutout in the 1-0 non-conference victory over Heidelberg on Sunday.
HONOR ROLL
Lilyana Baldi made her first two collegiate starts and had an impact on both Ithaca's wins over Elmira and Heidelberg. The junior forward charged to the net and provided the assist in
Kaelyn Fernandez's 66
th minute goal in which put IC up front 2-0. Baldi would then followed up with an outstanding solo goal that proved to be the game-winner against Heidelberg, slotting the ball into the back of the net off her left boot.
Bryson Shaull earned the start for the Bombers in goal and helped contribute to the 2-0 season-opening win over Elizabethtown. The senior earned his second collegiate shutout and made a big save in the 79th minute to preserve it, while facing 13 shots.
Graduate student
Ellie Benedict was one of the focal points of a 3-0 opening weekend for the No. 18 ranked Ithaca volleyball team. She produced 10+ digs in each win totaling 57, while also adding nine aces and 10 assists. Benedict produced 5.18 digs per set and her performances were highlighted by a match-high 28 digs and match-best five aces against John Carroll.
