RESULTS
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Ithaca College golf team traveled to New England this weekend to play in a highly competitive Williams Invitational that featured 20 teams, eight of which are nationally ranked and four more schools were receiving votes in the most recent WGCA Top 25 Poll.
Ithaca finished 16th overall with a two-round total of 674 (+106). IC shot 335 (+55) on Saturday and 331 (+51) on Sunday. No. 6 Amherst won the invitational with 587 (+19) and No. 6 NYU was the runner-up at 10 shots back.
Other nationally ranked teams who were in action this weekend were No. 7 Randolph-Macon, No. 8 Williams, No. 10 Wellesley, No. 16 Middlebury, No. 18 Hamilton and No. 25 Bowdoin. Babson, Gustavus Adolphus, Lynchburg and Wesleyan are all receiving votes.
Annelise Stencel was the top performer for IC as she finished 60th overall out of 98 golfers. Stencel was 21-over for the weekend (163) with rounds of 80 and 83. She carded two birdies on Saturday and closed out her weekend with an eagle on the 18th.
Brianna Morrison placed 66th with 167 (+25) and she made three birdies, while
Helena Winterberg was 72nd with 169 (+27) and she had two birdies.
Abby Bladen rounded out the top four in 81st as she shot 175 (+33) and was a nine-shot improvement on Sunday.
Ithaca concludes its fall season next weekend at the Hamilton Invitational.
