Men's Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week – Bryson Shaull
In a 1-0-1 week,
Bryson Shaull helped the No. 21 ranked Ithaca College men's soccer team remain unbeaten as they tied No. 9 Cortland and bested Moravian by a 1-0 score. Shaull recorded four saves to preserve the 0-0 tie against the Red Dragons and would record his second shutout of the week and sixth of the season against Moravian. The senior goalie made five more saves to lower his season goals against average to 0.14.
Football Special Teams Performer of the Week – Caleb Wandell
Caleb Wandell scored 11 points in Ithaca's 65-3 win at Hilbert on Saturday as he went 8-for-8 in PATs and made a career long 41-yard field goal.
HONOR ROLL
Alys Pop was in top form in Ithaca's 6-1 victory over Hartwick last week. At No. 1 singles, Pop was able to defeat Samanth Lantzy by set scores of 6-2, 6-0.
Gabriela Gonzalez-Abreu delivered a standout performance during Ithaca's 3–0 weekend, which included wins over (RV) Smith, (RV) NYU, and Swarthmore. She recorded double-digit kills in all three matches, totaling 45 across the weekend. Against NYU, Gonzalez-Abreu posted 13 kills, an ace, and eight digs. She followed that with a double-double versus Swarthmore, notching a season-high 16 digs and a match-best 17 kills over four sets. She capped off the weekend by hitting at a .353 clip with a match-high 15 kills in a sweep of Smith.
Addison Leadbetter continued her impressive debut season with strong contributions during Ithaca's 3–0 weekend sweep of (RV) Smith, (RV) NYU, and Swarthmore. Against NYU, the first-year standout recorded a season-high four aces and added eight kills. She followed that performance with five blocks—including two solo blocks—against Swarthmore, while also contributing five kills in both the Swarthmore and Smith matches.
Matthew Parker was perfect on Saturday during Ithaca's 65-3 win at Hilbert as he went 13-for-13 through the air for 185 yards and a touchdown in the first half. Parker set a new school record for completion percentage in a game, and the Bombers also set a team completion percentage record, going 24-for-26.
Brenna Schoenfeld posted the best game of her career in a 9-0 win over Brockport last Wednesday as she notched two goals and two assists for six points. Both of her assists came in the first half and both goals were scored in the second half.
