PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The Ithaca College men's rowing team opened up the 2025 IRA Division III National Championships on Friday morning with both the Varsity Eight and the 2V8 in action in both their respective preliminary heats on Cooper River. For the second-straight season the Bombers 2V8 earned a place into the grand finals tomorrow at 11:50 a.m. with an outstanding finish.
The 2V8 lineup on Friday was coxed by
Caroline Grass with
Wesley Hoglin,
Nolyn Boswell,
Brennen Mone,
Jonah Alefantis,
Tynan Fields,
Griffin Hunt,
Nico Greenberg and
Brodie Hart also in the boat. They were in the fifth lane and squared off against Trinity, Marietta with Williams College posting the top time of 6:03.060. The Bombers were just over nine seconds off the pace and crossed the finish line of the course with a time of 6:12.780.
Ithaca's first varsity rowed in the first heat at 10:08 a.m. and were in lane five with the lineup consisting of
Max Detzer,
Marshall Adams,
Liam Baker,
Andrew Coit,
Andrew Cheely,
Bryce Williston,
Riley Maynard,
Rhys Pellaton and
Miles Kenaston. It turned out to be an exciting finish with Trinity earning the heat win with a time of 5:45.360, followed by Wesleyan (5:49.140), Williams (5:49.730) and Ithaca (6:01.280). The Bombers will compete against Marietta at noon in the petite finals.
