ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's track & field team kicked off the Liberty League Outdoor Championships at RIT on Friday and finished the day just three points back of Rochester for first place as the Bombers totaled 65 points.
Nearly half of IC's points on Friday came from the pole vault as five Bombers reached the podium to total 30 points.
Talia Hutchinson,
Teagan Kiger and
Erin Eastwood all cleared 3.43 meters to take the top three spots, while
Bree Boyle finished fifth at 3.28 meters.
Raessler Guthrie took seventh at 2.98 meters.
The Bombers earned 13 points in the javelin as
Lily Seyfert led the way with a third place finish at 37.50 meters.
Celia Ryan took fourth with a mark of 35.29 meters and
Charlotte Powell placed seventh at 34.43 meters.
Laura Suppa was the runner-up in the long jump with a leap of 5.49 meters and
Alexis Brown finished in eighth at 5.14 meters.
Enya Green picked up eight points for IC as she was the runner-up in the hammer throw with a heave of 47.14 meters.
Logan Brasacchio was sixth in the steeplechase with a time of 11:38.87 and
Kyla Eisman placed seventh in the 10K in 39:28.63.
IC also earned qualifiers who will be in action on Saturday in the 100-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles.
