ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 24 nationally ranked Ithaca College softball team has earned the right to host an NCAA Regional this weekend after winning the 2025 Liberty League Championship on Saturday afternoon. The Bombers will be the second seed in a four-team, double-elimination regional, held Thursday through Saturday, May 15-17 at Kostrinsky Field.

Ithaca received an automatic berth into the 64-team NCAA Division III playoffs for the first time since 2019 and will be making its 31st all-time NCAA Tournament appearance. Top-seeded Texas Lutheran (39-3) will play fourth-seeded UMass Boston (32-11-1) on Thursday, May 15 at 11 a.m., followed by second-seeded Ithaca (28-6) vs. third-seeded Springfield (30-13) at 1:30 p.m. The winners of both games will advance to play at 11 a.m. on Friday morning, while the losers will face off at 1:30 p.m.

ITHACA IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT: This marks the Bombers' 31st trip to the NCAA Tournament. The team has played 149 games in the tournament and holds an 85-64 all-time record. The Bombers have made 11 trips to the NCAA Championship and were crowned National Champions in 2002.
Matchups begin Thursday, May 15 with the regional round and continue through the finals, ending Wednesday, June 4 at Inspiration Field in Bloomington, Ill. A more in-depth preview of the Ithaca NCAA Regional will be posted later this week.
