ITHACA, N.Y. – Postseason play is in full swing for several of the Ithaca College athletic programs who will be competing in their respective Liberty League Championships this weekend. The softball championship will take place May 8-10 as the top seed will host with a No. 5 vs. No. 4 play-in game followed by the double elimination tournament. Below is a preview of each of the sports that will be competing this weekend beginning on Friday.
MEN'S LACROSSE

After successfully upsetting (RV) Skidmore in Tuesday's first round, the Ithaca College men's lacrosse team has a showdown against the No. 3 nationally ranked RIT Tigers in the Liberty League Semifinals. They will battle at 4 p.m. on Friday in Rochester, N.Y. at Tiger Stadium as the Bombers advanced to the semifinal with a 14-4 win over Skidmore on Tuesday.
The winner of this contest will move onto Sunday's championship game, which will be held at the highest remaining seed left in the tournament. The Tigers own a 33-28 record in the all-time series and beat the Bombers 9-4 on April 9. Ithaca's defense and goalie
Andrew Minard shined in the loss as the nine goals were the least the Tigers produced all season as Minard also notched 16 saves. The junior goalkeeper currently ranks second within the conference with his 8.05 goals against average.
Sophomore attacker
Lucas Proctor leads Ithaca with a career-high 49 points on 28 goals and 21 assists. His brother Kyle has helped churn out the offensive attack with 47 points (23 goals and 24 assists) and
Kyle Savery has the second most goals on the squad with 27 entering the weekend.
RIT has won three of the past four Liberty League Championships but were upset 15-14 to the then No. 3 seeded RPI Engineers during the 2024 season.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE

The nationally ranked No. 23 Ithaca College women's lacrosse team will host RIT at 4 p.m. on Friday at Higgins Stadium in the Liberty League Semifinals. The winner of this contest will move onto Sunday's championship game, which will be held at the highest remaining seed left in the tournament.
Ithaca is coming off a home 19-10 victory over Vassar in the quarterfinals, which took place on Tuesday.
Lily Cody notched nine points on five goals and four assists, to go along with seven draws.
Kelly Augeri added five points on three goals and two assists, while
Elizabeth Green scored four goals.
RIT reached the semifinals after defeating St. Lawrence, 13-12, in overtime. Lily DePalma was the leading scorer with five goals, while Morgan Nichter chipped in three goals and one assist. Zoe Heffernan scored the game-winning goal in overtime.
Ithaca is 19-1 against RIT in the all-time series and won this year's regular season game, 16-12.

The Ithaca College men's and women's track & field teams will travel to RIT for the Liberty League Outdoor Championships on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3. Friday's competition begins at 12 p.m. and Saturday gets underway at 10:30 a.m.
The IC men finished sixth at the outdoor championships, while the women were second. The men have won two outdoor titles since joining the Liberty League, while the women have earned three crowns.
The women return three champions from a season ago:
Lydia Barber (high jump),
Lily Seyfert (hammer throw) and
Madeleine Wright (heptathlon).

The Bombers once again return to the Liberty League Championship tournament that will be held in the Reis Tennis Center after capturing the No. 6 seed on the final day of the regular season. Ithaca posted a regular season record of 6-11, including 2-6 within conference and are slated to take on the No. 3 seeded RPI Engineers on Friday at 11:30 a.m.
RPI defeated Ithaca 5-2 on March 22 as wins in that match came from both
Taylor Crain at No. 1 singles and
Sabrina Cheung in the No. 3 flight. Crain has posted an 11-6 singles record, which includes 5-3 in Liberty League matches with all of them at No. 1.

The Ithaca College men's tennis team earned the No. 6 seed after posting a 6-9 overall record and 4-4 mark within Liberty League play to return to the Liberty League Championship tournament for the second-straight season. The Bombers will matchup against the No. 3 seeded RIT Tigers on Friday at 5 p.m. inside the Reis Tennis Center at nearby Cornell University.
Ithaca bested the Tigers, 4-3 during the regular season with first year
Ivan Kisic clinching the win at No. 3 singles, defeating Alec Turcotte, 6-1 and 6-3. Kisic has made an immediate impact for the Bombers as he has been a three-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week and has a singles record of 11-4, including 6-1 in conference and enters the postseason winner of his last six matches.
BASEBALL

The Ithaca College baseball team will continue its quest of a four-peat of a Liberty League championship this Friday and Saturday, May 2-3, as the Bombers host Vassar in the Crossover Series. A single game will take place on Friday, followed by a doubleheader – with an if necessary Game 3 – on Saturday. Whoever wins the series will advance to the Liberty League Tournament on May 8-10. If the Bombers win this weekend, the tournament will be held at Freeman Field.
IC and Vassar met in the Crossover Series last season and the Bombers swept the Brewers, 11-1 and 9-5. Vassar won both regular season games against Ithaca in 2024.
Ithaca is 22-13 on the season and went 14-5 in Liberty League games. Vassar will bring a 14-17 record to South Hill and the Brewers were 5-9 in Liberty League action.

The 2025 Liberty League Rowing Championships are set for Friday, May 2 at Fish Creek's 2,000-meter course on Saratoga Lake in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. with the regatta set to begin at 9 a.m.
In women's rowing, Ithaca is seeking its seventh-straight Liberty League title. At last year's championship, Ithaca won all four events in which they were entered - Varsity Eight; Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four, and Novice Eight. In the six-boat Varsity Eight Final, Ithaca crossed the finish line in 7:02.002 to win by nine seconds. RIT (7:11.152) was the runner-up, edging third-place William Smith (7:11.886) over the last 500 meters. In the most recent Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Division III poll (April 29), Ithaca leads the league at No. 6 with William Smith checking in a spot behind at No. 7. Skidmore is also among the top 15, the Thoroughbreds are ranked 13th.
For men's rowing, Ithaca is seeking its second consecutive title after earning top Liberty League honors in 2024 for the first time in program history. In the most recent IRCA/IRA Men's D3 Varsity 8+ (April 30) poll, Ithaca is the top conference team, checking in at No. 10. RIT, St. Lawrence, and Skidmore are also among D3's top 15; they are ranked 12th, 13th, and 14th, respectively.
At the 2024 championship, the Bombers were triumphant in the Varsity Eight race among five boats, winning by more than five seconds with a time of 6:08.008 over runner-up St. Lawrence (6:13.129). Ithaca also won the Second Varsity Eight with a time of 6:22.001 with a margin of victory of 4.4 seconds. RIT (6:26.452) placed second and Union (6:44.481) rounded out the top three boats.
The winners of the Varsity Eight races are crowned Liberty league team champions. For the women, to earn the Liberty League's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, they must also have a Second Varsity Eight boat participate at the league regatta. The NCAA Women's Rowing Championships for all three divisions will be held May 30-June 1 in West Windsor, N.J. with the Division III Championship finals held on Saturday, May 31.
On the men's side, the winner of Friday's men's Varsity Eight earns a trip to the 2025 IRA Championships, which will take place on May 30-June 1 on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J.
