Golf Set to Compete for Liberty League Title This Weekend

4/25/2025 12:52:00 PM

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College golf team will serve as this year's Liberty League Championship host and will head to Pinehaven Country Club in Guilderland, N.Y. to compete for the program's second conference title this weekend, April 26-27.

Pinehaven is an 18-hole, par-72 course that measures 5461 yards from the gold tees. Seven schools and 42 golfers will be in action this weekend and live results can be followed here.

No. 9 New York University will look to claim its fourth-straight Liberty League crown, and 10th overall, while No. 6 Wellesley College will challenge the Violets for the program's first-ever championship. Ithaca won the 2021 title, and the Bombers have been playing their best golf all spring season. St. Lawrence, Union, Vassar and William Smith have never would a Liberty League championship.

Last season, Ithaca tied Wellesley for second overall with 623 (+47), while NYU won with 605 (+29). At the time, the Bombers carded a pair of school records for 18- and 36-hole low rounds of 305 and 623.

IC has averaged 318 through four rounds this spring and is coming off a 302 on April 13 at the Cortland Martin/Wallace Invitational. The Bombers won that tournament by 20 strokes and have won five events this season.

Rheanna DeCrow was the medalist at Cortland as she fired a two-round total of 152 (+8), which concluded with an even par 72 on Sunday. Helena Winterberg, Annelise Stencel and Abby Bladen all finished within two shots of each other for top six showings and Annika Michel was 11th at Cortland with a 167.

SPRING SCORING AVERAGE (FOUR ROUNDS)

Rheanna DeCrow 77.5
Annelise Stencel 80
Helena Winterberg 80.5
Annika Michel 82.3
Abby Bladen 84.5

Golfers who finished first-to-fifth will be named Liberty League First Team, while sixth-to-tenth are second team and 11th-to-13th are honorable mention.
