Golf Wins Martin/Wallace Invitational by 20 Strokes

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Ithaca College golf team retrned to action over the weekend to compete in the Martin/Wallace Invitational hosted by SUNY Cortland at the Cortland Country Club on Saturday and Sunday. The Bombers won the 10-team tournament with a two-round total of 634 (+58), which included a Sunday round of 302 (+14).

IC entered Sunday just two strokes back of Union as the Garnet Chargers led the first round with 330. Union shot 324 on Sunday to give the Bombers a 20-stroke win.

Rheanna DeCrow earned medalist honors as she shot 152 (+8) after an even par 72 moved on Sunday her up two spots on the leaderboard. DeCrow fired fourdecrow first place cortland 2025 birdies in her round and was one-under on the back nine. She carded one birdie on Saturday to finish with an 80.

Helena Winterberg tied for third overall with 159 (+15) after rounds of 82 and 77. Winterberg fired two birdies over the weekend and her Sunday round moved her up four spots.

Annelise Stencel placed fifth with 161 (+17) and jumped four spots on the leaderboard on Sunday after shooting a 77. Stencel birdied two holes on Saturday.

Abby Bladen followed in sixth with 162 (+18) and made one of the biggest moves on the leaderboard as her 76 on Sunday vaulted her up seven spots. Bladen made two birdies on Sunday.

Annika Michel placed 11th overall with 167 (+23) and she recorded one birdie on the weekend.

Ithaca concludes its season in two weeks at the Liberty League Championships in Albany on April 26-27.
