GREENSBORO, N.C. – Ithaca College women's swimming and diving senior
Kailee Payne successfully repeated as the National Champion on both the 3-meter and 1-meter diving boards after her latest record-breaking performance on Saturday, the final evening of the 2025 NCAA Division III National Championships. Payne scored a 522.80 to win the 3-meter diving event, securing her fourth overall diving national championship performance, after winning the title on both boards last season.
Payne put together a sensational 11-dive preliminary round that saw her break an NCAA record with her total of 530.95. She really scored well on her 10
th and 11
th dives scoring a 64.40 and a 55.35, which helped her reset an NCAA Championship record. She would continue her dominance during the finals session and secured the national title with a finals score of 522.80, which topped Abigail Wilkov from Case Western who scored a 501.65.
In addition, also earning All-American honors with her 11
th place finish in the consolation final was
Angela Burke. The senior put together a finals score of 438.50, which was her first career All-American finish and tied for the 70
th individual honor in program history. Also competing on Saturday for the Bombers was
Jenell Slesser who finished 18
th overall with her score of 407.20.
Ithaca College also saw diving coach
Chris Griffin named the women's CSCAA Dive Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the meet. With the honor, Griffin becomes a three-time women's diving coach of the year.
Kailee Payne was also awarded the CSCAA Women's Diver of the Year for the second consecutive season.
