GREENSBORO, N.C. – Action began at the first day of the 2025 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday, which featured the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard IM, 50-yard freestyle, the 400-yard medley relay and the men's 3-meter diving. On the men's side, the Bombers are represented by senior
Ethan Godfrey who competed today and will return to action on Friday when he competes on the 1-meter boards.
During the diving session, Godfrey started with his voluntary dives, which included him scoring a 31.35 on his 301 B (Reverse Dive Pike). He would produce the fifth-best score in the sixth round on his 5152B, which is a forward two and a half somersault with a twist pike and scored a 53.20. Overall, through his 11 dives on the 3-meter, Godfrey totaled a preliminary score of 392.35, which good for 23
rd overall. The national championship was won by Trent Makowiec of SUNY Geneseo who totaled a finals score of 558.35.
Competition continues tomorrow at 10 a.m. with the 200-yard freestyle relay, 400 yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, and 200-yard freestyle. The women will compete on the 1-meter diving boards.
