CHAMPS! Women’s Track & Field Claims Fifth Liberty League Indoor Title

ITHACA, N.Y. –
The Ithaca College women's track & field team defended its home venue, Glazer Arena, and won the Liberty League Indoor Championships with 209 points on Saturday. The title is Ithaca's fifth indoor championship and the first since 2021-22.

Laura Suppa scored 28 points on her own as she won the 60-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash, while placing second in the 60-meter dash. Suppa tied the meet record, set by Rachel Larson yesterday during the prelim, in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.61 seconds and posted a finish of 25.43 in the 200. She also posted a time of 7.76 in the 60 dash.

Madeleine Wright reached the top of the podium with a first place performance in the high jump at 1.64 meters. Wright breezed through her first four heights and narrowly clipped the bar on her final attempt at 1.69 meters.

Aynisha McQuillar took the top spot in the 60 dash in 7.67 seconds and was the runner-up in the 200 at 25.56.

Larson took runner-up honors in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.71 seconds and was sixth in the 60 dash in 8.09. Marykate Rudnicki secured fourth in the 60 at 7.99 and placed seventh in the 200 in 26.34.

IC's 4x400-meter relay team of Natalie MacArthur, Julia Ryba, Joy Petersen and Ava Bulter claimed the runner-up spot with a time of 4:01.28.

Four other Bombers reached the podium in the high jump as Celia Ryan took third at 1.59 meters, Lydia Barber was fourth at 1.54, Cecelia LaBonte took fifth at 1.49 and Cameron Ting secured eighth at 1.44.

Lily Seyfert and Enya Green reached the podium in the weight throw as Seyfert posted a mark of 15.05 meters to place third and Green took fifth at 14.59 meters.

Three Bombers made the podium in the triple jump, led by Alexis Brown in third with a leap of 11.05 meters. Ryan finished in sixth at 10.55 meters and Grace Croft was eighth at 10.48 meters.

Petersen also competed in the 800-meter run and came in eighth place overall in a time of 2:20.90.

Ithaca is back at home next weekend for the AARTFC Championships.
