YORK, Pa. – The Ithaca College women's wrestling team was back in action on Saturday competing in the New Standard Invitational as they finished 11
th out of 13 teams with 25.5 team points. Western New England claimed the team title with 171 points, followed by Ursinus (133) and Mount Union (118).
At 117 lbs., first year
Arianna Leo opened the day with a dominant 12-2 tech fall over Mount Union's Erta Beqiri. She battled hard in her next two bouts, including a narrow 7-4 loss to Lily Henderson in the Round of 16. Fellow newcomer
Delaney Bisaillon had an impressive performance, going 3-1 to earn second place in the weight class. Bisaillon pinned Aubrey Filsinger in just 20 seconds and added a 10-0 tech fall over Gracie Woodring to reach the semifinals. She then edged Josey Wehr (Eastern University) in a thrilling 6-5 decision before falling to Maddie Ripley (Western New England) in the championship match.
Sammi Meyer started strong with a 10-0 tech fall over Orla King and later earned an 8-5 victory against Mount Union's Brooklyn Madel. Meyer finished the day 2-2 after dropping her final bout in the consolation round.
Emmie Moore made her season debut and went 2-2, highlighted by back-to-back pins – first against Marywood's Mia Gutierrez Fuentes in 1:04 and then against Misericordia's Alyson Lenker in under five seconds.
Angie Berry finished 1-2 on the day, earning a 14-4 tech fall over Mount Union's Addison Paparella in the consolation round of eight.
Next up, the Bombers will compete in a tri-match at Buffalo State after the holidays. They will take on both Buffalo State and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 4.
