Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week – Lola Gitlin
Lola Gitlin was the first IC runner to complete the 6K course in a time of 22:27.7 to place 15th overall out of 162 runners at the Niagara Regional on Saturday. Gitlin earned all-region honors and was the third Liberty League runner to finish the race.
Volleyball Performer of the Week – Gabriela Gonzalez-Abreu
Gabriela Gonzalez-Abreu delivered dominant performances in both the Liberty League semifinal and championship matches, recording double-doubles in each. Against Skidmore, she hit .286 with 11 kills, 12 digs, and a service ace. In the title match, Gonzalez-Abreu powered Ithaca to its fourth straight Liberty League crown with 18 kills—seven coming in the decisive fifth set—along with 12 digs in a dramatic 3-2 victory over William Smith and was named the Liberty League Most Outstanding Performer of the Tournament.
Volleyball Rookie of the Week – Addison Leadbetter
Addison Leadbetter delivered another outstanding performance during the Liberty League Championship run. In the title match against William Smith, she tallied 15 kills at an impressive .440 hitting percentage and added two service aces to help secure the victory. Earlier in the semifinal against Skidmore, Leadbetter continued her efficient play with six kills at a .417 clip and contributed a block.
Football Defensive Performer of the Week – Cam Paquette
Cam Paquette led the Ithaca defense with 10 total tackles (seven solo) and made the game-clinching interception in the end zone with just over a minute left in regulation as Ithaca defeated No. 14/20 Cortland, 26-21, in the 66th Cortaca Jug.
HONOR ROLL
Evan Cabral averaged 20.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in a 1-1 week for Ithaca. Cabral was 15-for-32 from the field, including 7-of-17 from 3-point range in 62 minutes played. In a loss to Cortland, he scored 19 points and shot 50-percent for the field. Cabral then tallied 22 points in Ithaca's first win of the season at Hamilton, 75-71.
Michael Reed accounted for 275 yards of total offense and three touchdowns in Ithaca's dramatic 26-21 victory over No. 14/20 Cortland in the 66th Cortaca Jug. Reed was 14-for-27 passing for 177 yards and two touchdowns and he rushed for 98 yards and another score on 25 carries.
