RESULTS

BETHLEHEM, Pa.
- The Ithaca College women's cross country team traveled out of state to Lehigh University to compete in the Paul Short Run. They battled the difficult heat and came away with a 19th place finish in the Women's College White race.

The highlight for the Bombers today was junior Lola Gitlin. Gitlin, who was a late addition to the roster after originally transferring to Ithaca to play soccer has continued to be a pleasant surprise. She continued her steady emergence with nearly a full minute of improvement from her first 6k, running 22:20. Gitlin took home the Bombers only top 75 finish, placing 56th overall and moving up 23 positions from the first mile to the finish.

She was followed by senior Jessica Goode who ran 23:01 for 132nd place, just 11 seconds shy of her season best. Sophomore Hannah Pawlowski recorded another personal best, running a time of 23:05. Pawlowski continues to trend positively for the Bombers and is looking to be a consistent scorer for the South Hill squad come postseason in a few weeks.

Next up was senior Kayleigh Milligan who ran 23:27 for 12 second personal best. This season has gotten off to a strong start for Milligan who has now run personal bests in all three races. After missing track last year after spending the spring semester studying abroad in Australia, Milligan has rounded back into form nicely and has been a consistent contributor for the team.

Senior Joy Petersen rounded out the scorers for the Bombers running 23:35. Petersen has continuously made strides each week in her training as she recovers from a hamstring injury that has limited her in practice this season.

In a mirror image of the men's race, it was New York University who dominated this race on the team side, scoring 55 points. The fifth ranked team in the country put all five of their scorers in the top 15. The individual winner was a familiar face from the Liberty League, as junior Jules Bleskoski of RPI ran away from the field in a 20:20.

The women who competed today will get next weekend off to rest and recover while the remainder of the team will be back in action on Saturday October 11 when they travel to Houghton to race the Houghton Highlander Invitational.
