Women’s Track & Field Places Second at Nazareth Challenge Cup

ROCHESTER, N.Y. –
The Ithaca College women's track & field team finished second out of 10 schools with 121 points at the Nazareth College Cup on Saturday. IC, along with Rochester, totaled 183 points to finish second in the conference standings behind the Empire 8 winners, Geneseo and Nazareth.

IC's 4x200-meter relay team of Aynisha McQuillar, Ava Butler, Natalie MacArthur and Marykate Rudnicki won the event and set a new school record with a time of 1:44.85. The relay topped IC's previous record of 1:45.49 set back in 2012.

Ithaca took three of the top five spots in the high jump and Celia Ryan was first overall at 1.58 meters and Madeleine Wright cleared 1.53 meters to place second. Lydia Barber claimed fifth at 1.53 meters.

IC also took four placements in the top six of the pole vault as Talia Hutchinson and Bree Boyle both cleared 3.60 meters to come in second and third. They are both tied for 14th on the DIII list. Erin Eastwood was fifth at 3.45 meters and Teagan Kiger was sixth with a mark of 3.30 meters.

McQuillar and Rudnicki placed second and third in the 200-meter dash with times of 26.16 and 26.18 seconds.

Rachel Larson and Laura Suppa secured second and third place in the 60-meter hurdles with times of 8.87 and 8.88 seconds. Suppa also qualified for the 60-meter dash with the second fastest time in the prelim with 7.93 seconds and finished sixth in the final at 8.08.

Lily Seyfert took second place honors in the shot put at 12.28 meters, while Alexis Brown took third in the triple jump at 10.62 meters and was an eighth place finisher in the long jump at 5.04 meters.

The DMR relay of Joy Petersen, Lyla Powers, Carolina Cedraschi and Emily Johnson finished third in 13:11.40, which ranks 16th in Division III.

MacArthur was a fourth place runner in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.84 and Butler took seventh in 1:01.59. Petersen posted a time of 2:22.98 in the 800-meter run to place fifth overall. Logan Brasacchio took seventh in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:07.34.

The Bombers' 4x400-meter relay of Butler, MacArthur, Cameron Ting and Julia Ryba were sixth overall in 4:10.12.

Ithaca is back home next weekend for the annual Bomber Invitational on February 1-2.
