ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's rowing program has announced the hiring of new assistant coach Gregg Seiz '23.
"I knew Gregg was dedicated and conscientious as a student-athlete, but through the hiring process I learned that his decision to coach is thoughtful and intentional," said head coach
Beth Greene. "He respects the role and influence that coaching can have in a student's life, and I couldn't be happier to have someone with his energy and enthusiasm on staff."
Seiz brings 17 seasons of coaching youth rowing at clubs including Narragansett Boat Club, Passaic River Rowing Association, and Nereid Boat Club. He has also worked with national outreach program STEM to Stern and in 2024 oversaw the Narragansett Boat Club STEM to Stern program that brought the most STS athletes to nationals out of all competing teams. His high school crews have had strong showings at nationals and many of his athletes have gone on to row at a high level in college.
"I could not be more excited to be once again joining Bomber nation," said Seiz. "From the day I first arrived on campus as a student years ago I have obsessed with the culture here and I think it's truly the perfect program for athletes to grow into champions. I am very excited to help Coach Greene lead team 50 on their '24-'25 campaign."
Seiz graduated from Ithaca College in 2023 with his B.S. in exercise science. He spent his entire rowing career at Ithaca in the first varsity 8+ for the men's program, served as co-captain and was a 2023 Liberty League First Team selection.
