ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's rowing team has hired Jake Lentz '23 as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Lentz returns to the South Hill after spending the last year coaching at East Bay Rowing Inc. where he was coaching juniors in Rhode Island while also working at the local marina.
"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be returning to the Ithaca men's rowing program. I had such memorable experiences as a student-athlete and can't wait to give back," Lentz said. "I would like to thank Coach Stangel for this opportunity."
Lentz was a four-year member of the Bombers men's rowing program, was a two-time co-captain during his junior and senior seasons and was both a Liberty League First Team selection and earned Second Team IRCA All-American in 2023.
"I couldn't be more excited to welcome Jake back to the South Hill," said Ithaca head coach
Justin Stangel. "He embodied what it meant to be a Bomber student-athlete during his time here. I know he has the passion and skill set to help guide the next generation of IC men's rowers."
He will officially begin his appointment as assistant coach in August and will work with the lower boats on the water.
