BETHEL, OHIO – The Ithaca College women's rowing program wrapped up their season at the 2024 NCAA Division III National Championships on Saturday. The Bomber's finished in fifth place behind a strong field of competition. This was Ithaca's 22
nd NCAA appearance.
The 1V8 competed in the grand final racing out of lane one, the competition included Tufts, Wesleyan, Trinity, Williams and Smith. The IC lineup was the same as Friday with
Caroline Hoskins who was the coxswain then stroke to bow consisted of
Taylor Volmrich,
Lily Babcock,
Laura Trainor,
Maggie Farber,
Erin Trojan,
Kai Lincke,
Samantha Gallagher and
Emma Hammel. Ithaca finished in fifth place with a recorded time of 7:01.5. They came off the line strong with a first 500 time of 1:42.5. Through the middle of the race Tufts moved out, but Ithaca continued to battle with the rest of the pack. With 500 to go, the sprint was on, and Ithaca ended up 10 seconds behind the winning crew from Tufts and 5 seconds behind the 4th place crew from Williams.

Chloe Croft,
Melanie Belmont and
Julia DiCostanzo they finished sixth in the 2V eight grand final. IC's time on the 2,000 meter course was 7:29.1. The race was won by Williams College.
"Both boats had their best races of the season," said head coach
Becky Robinson. "I'm extremely proud of each of the student-athletes and how they represented Ithaca College at the highest level again. All of the athletes felt good about their result."
