CHERRY HILL, N.J. – After having to wait until Sunday to compete in the 2024 Knecht Cup due to inclement weather forcing all races to be rescheduled from Saturday, the Ithaca College men's rowing team brought both its 1V and 2V lineups where they competed in the regatta. All racing on Saturday was cancelled due to 22mph winds and gusts up to 40 mph.
The Bombers 1V8 lineup this weekend consisted of Miles Kenaston, Rhys Pellaton, Riley Maynard, Bryce Williston, James Ross, Griffin Hunt, Wesley Hoglin, Caleb Grassi and Max Detzer. It was a great race for Ithaca as they competed against Catholic, St. Mary's, Adrian, Franklin & Marshall and Stockton and topped the field with a time of 6:15.30. That time was 11.42 faster than the Catholic boat who recorded a time of 6:26.72. With the win they took home the NCAA Division III championship in the 1V.
 
The Ithaca 2V competed in a heat against the 1V of Trinity and the 2Vs from Catholic and St. Mary's. The IC lineup of Caroline Grass, Marshall Adams, Maxwell Vallino, Nolyn Boswell, Ethan Revis, Brodie Hart, Nico Greenberg, Jonah Alefantis and Tynan Fields. They had the clear edge over both Catholic and St. Mary's but finished 15.54 behind the boat from Trinity who completed the race in 6:31.09 compared to IC's time of 6:46.63.
 
Ithaca College will return to action on Saturday, April 20 competing in the NYS Championships in Saratoga Springs with races slated to start at 8 a.m.
