GREENSBORO, N.C. – On the final day of the 2024 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, Ithaca College saw an incredible performance put in by
James Collishaw in the 100-yard freestyle. He ended up achieving All-American status for the second consecutive season and the fifth of his career with a seventh-place finish in the event.
During the morning preliminary sessions Collishaw broke his own team record swimming a time of 43.88 to secure his spot in the "A" final of the 100-yard freestyle. He was even quicker during the evenings championship final as he touched the final wall with a recorded time of 43.87, which was good for seventh place. Kenyon's Djordje Deagojlovic won the race posting a finals time of 43.26.
The Bombers also competed in the 400-yard freestyle relay as the foursome of
Alec Kutsner,
James Collishaw,
Michael Paulos and
Matthew Mitros teamed up to swim a time of 3:04.31, which was good for 23
rd place overall.
Overall, the Ithaca College men's program finished in 35
th place with 12 team points while the women's program placed 17th overall with 54 team points as junior diver Kailee Payne was also crowned a National Champion on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.
