ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 22 ranked Ithaca College wrestling team wrapped up its season-opener at the Athletics & Events Center's Glazer Arena on Saturday for the final day of the annual Ithaca Invitational tournament. The Bombers had 10 grapplers battling for individual titles in the top-half of the brackets entering the second day of competition on Saturday, while several others were still alive in the consolation rounds. Head coach
Marty Nichols squad gritted out several key points in a hard-fought day that saw them finish in third place in the 11-team field behind 151.5 team points.
NWCA Preseason Tournament No. 9 ranked Castleton took home the team title with 193.0 points to barely edge out No. 11 Johnson & Wales (RI) who finished in second place with 186.5 points. Rounding out the top-5 was Ithaca (151.5), Springfield College who totaled 140 points and in fifth place was Penn College of Technology.
At the end of the day, the Bombers saw

Ithaca College will look to continue to build early season momentum when the team returns to action at the Bob Del Rosa Ohio Intercollegiate Open in Cleveland. Wrestling is slated to begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday, November 10.
